Ann McDonald
JMC Department Coordinator
(402) 280-2825 - annmac@creighton.edu
Mrs. Ann Mc Donald is the Department Coordinator. She provides
administrative and technical assistance to students and faculty in our
department and oversees the daily maintenance of the Macintosh labs and
newsroom.
"I started out as a part-time employee for Instructional Technology (now DOIT) and Journalism, eventually staying in Journalism when Instructional Technology moved to the lower Reinert Alumni Library area. In 1988, when Don Doll, S.J. received a grant from the Hitchcock Foundation to install a Macintosh computer lab in journalism, I became involved in that operation and also became a full-time employee around that time. Much to my delight the challenge of learning the new technology and helping run the lab was what I enjoyed. At the present time there are two computer labs and "The Creightonian" newsroom that function as a unit for teaching and production. I still do the administrative duties with the help of work study students, but am extensively involved with the labs and their maintenance. As Department Coordinator, the duties were extended to overseeing the renovation of the Bluejay Yearbook facility and the Steve Murphy Media Lab. The job is both interesting and challenging."
